The Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association (SSGA) is inviting cattle producers, ranching families, industry leaders, and partners from across the province and beyond to gather in Swift Current June 7–9, 2026, for the Association’s 113th Annual General Meeting & Convention.
Hosted with the theme Celebrating Rangelands and Ranchers, the convention promises three energizing days of conversation, collaboration, and community—bringing together the people and organizations helping shape the future of Saskatchewan’s livestock industry.
From policy and profitability to stewardship, succession, innovation, and advocacy, the 2026 convention agenda reflects the opportunities and challenges facing producers today, while celebrating the resilience and leadership that define Saskatchewan ranching.
“Our convention is where our industry comes together,” said Jeff Yorga, President of the SSGA. “It is an opportunity to reconnect with neighbours and colleagues, hear from industry leaders, discuss the issues affecting our operations, and ensure producer voices continue to guide the future of agriculture in Saskatchewan and across Canada.”
The event begins Sunday evening with the President’s Reception, featuring remarks from John Barlow, Agriculture Critic for the Conservative Party of Canada.
Monday’s convention programming opens with welcomes from Yorga and Al Bridal, Mayor of Swift Current, before launching into a full day of presentations focused on the future of Canadian agriculture and beef production. Highlights include:
• Insights on enabling the next generation of Canadian agriculture from Farm Credit Canada Vice President Colin Brisebois;
• An address from Saskatchewan Agriculture Minister David Marit;
• A national industry update from Tyler Fulton of the Canadian Cattle Association;
• Updates on Whole Farm Revenue Insurance from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada;
• A beef cattle market outlook from Brian Perillat of Bullseye Feeds;
• Producer discussions recognizing the International Year of Rangelands & Pastoralists; as well as
• Sessions on trace mineral management, wildlife revenue diversification, and practical opportunities to strengthen ranch profitability and resilience.
Monday evening lights up with cocktails, banquet entertainment, the presentation of the TESA Award and Rangeland Scholarship, and the always-popular live and silent auctions.
Tuesday’s AGM and convention sessions continue with key industry updates from Canada Beef President Eric Bienvenue, Saskatchewan Cattle Association President Chad Ross, and the Saskatchewan Stock Growers Foundation.
Producers will also hear an important update on the Canadian Beef Codes from Karen Schwartzkopf-Genswein, along with participating in SSGA business sessions, policy resolutions, elections, and grassroots discussions that help shape the direction of the Association.
“Our industry has always been built on people—neighbours helping neighbours, families caring for the land, and producers working steadily to leave things better for the next generation,” said Jeff Yorga. “Our convention is an opportunity to come together in that spirit to share ideas, enjoy good company, welcome new faces, and recognize the dedication of the people who make this industry so strong. Whether you’ve attended for years or are joining us for the first time, we look forward to welcoming you to Swift Current.”
