The Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association (SSGA) will host its Semi-Annual Meeting and Honour Scroll Banquet on February 27 at Dakota Dunes Resort, bringing together livestock producers, industry partners, and stakeholders from across the province.
New this year, SSGA will also offer a Young Rancher Seminar, featuring presentations focused on marketing strategies and financial planning. The seminar is designed to support the next generation of livestock producers by providing practical tools, insights, and education to help strengthen long-term business success in Saskatchewan’s livestock industry.
The Semi-Annual Meeting will provide members with updates on SSGA business, advocacy initiatives, and key issues affecting Saskatchewan’s livestock industry. The meeting will also feature a keynote presentation on a new federally inspected livestock processing facility currently under construction at Perdue, Saskatchewan, and serve as an important forum to discuss policy priorities and the future of the province’s livestock sector.
Following the meeting, the Honour Scroll Banquet will celebrate individuals who have made significant contributions to Saskatchewan’s livestock industry and to their communities. The 2026 Honour Scroll recipients are:
Dale and Shelly Easton, Wawota, SK
Murray and Selena McGillivray, formerly of Radville, SK
Dr. Grant Royan, Regina, SK
These recipients are recognized for their leadership, commitment, and lasting impact on the livestock industry in Saskatchewan.
The evening will also feature live entertainment by Chris Henderson, with a concert free for all SSGA members, adding to the celebration and providing an opportunity for members to connect and enjoy an evening together.
“The Semi-Annual Meeting and Honour Scroll Banquet is a cornerstone event for our association,” said Jeff Yorga, SSGA President. “It allows us to address important industry issues while also recognizing individuals who have dedicated their time and energy to strengthening Saskatchewan’s livestock industry.”
