Agri-Ed
With only 3% of the Canadian population having direct ties to the family farm, many people are not familiar with modern agriculture practices. Therefore, it has become increasingly important to connect with our consumers, communicating with them the dedication and care Saskatchewan producers provide to their livestock.
To this end, for many years the SSGA has been working with industry partners ensuring information on beef production reaches school children, educators and parents through agriculture education. Two venues which have proven advantageous for this effort have been Saskatoon’s Fall Fair and Regina’s Canadian Western Agribition. Recently we have expanded the Agri-Ed program to include the Yorkton Harvest Showdown and the Prince Albert Fair.
